Enrolment for UvA Economics and Business students
Students from UvA Economics and Business interested in progressing from a Bachelor’s programme to a Master’s, have their own entry requirements and step-by-step guide. For more details, visit the enrolment page for Bachelor's students or the enrolment page for pre-Master's students.
Application process for students from outside UvA Economics and Business
The application process consists of 7 steps and applies to the September 2025 intake.

1. Follow the deadlines
Are you interested in this Master’s and do you want to apply? Make sure you register in Studielink and submit your application in Embark before the deadline.
February 2025 intake
These are the deadlines for the February start.
For Non-EU/EEA students with an International (non-Dutch) degree
If you are applying for a scholarship 1 November 2024 If you require a Visa and/or would like to apply for UvA Housing 1 November 2024 For EU/EEA students with an International (non-Dutch) degree
If you would like to apply for UvA Housing 1 November 2024 If you do not want to apply for UvA Housing 2 December 2024 Students with a Dutch degree
2 January 2025 (or 1 November 2025 if you require a new Visa/Residence permit).
September 2025 intake
These are the deadlines for the September start.
For Non-EU/EEA students with an International (non-Dutch) degree
If you are applying for a scholarship 15 January 2025 If you require a Visa and/or would like to apply for UvA Housing 1 April 2025 For EU/EEA students with an International (non-Dutch) degree
If you would like to apply for UvA Housing 1 April 2025 If you do not want to apply for UvA Housing 1 May 2025 Students with a Dutch degree
1 June 2025 (or 1 April 2025 if you require a new Visa/Residence permit).

2. Check the entry requirements (February and September 2025 intake)
The entry requirements depend on where you have completed your prior education.
- Applicants with an international degree
- Applicants from another UvA faculty or Dutch university
- Applicants from a Dutch (HBO) or European University of Applied Sciences
If you do not meet the above entry requirements, you might be eligible to do the pre-Master's programme.

3. Register in Studielink
Your application starts in Studielink, the national registration system for students applying to a degree programme at a Dutch university.
Registering in Studielink is the first step before you can apply to your chosen programme. During registration, you need to select a specific track. If you are admitted to the programme, you will be accepted for the overall programme, not a specific track.
Please note: this is not an application to the Master's programme. Only after submitting your complete application in Embark (step 5) the Admissions Office will assess your eligibility to the programme.

4. Check your personal enrolment checklist in SIS
After registering in Studielink, you will receive your UvAnetID. This will give you access to check the status of your personal enrolment checklist in SIS. There you find the next steps that you need to take in order to complete your enrolment.

5. Submit your online application in Embark
In order to check if you are eligible for the programme you need to upload and submit your documents in Embark. Remember to keep track of the deadlines to ensure your application is submitted on time.

6. Pay the tuition fee (after admission)
Your tuition fee needs to be credited to the UvA’s bank account 1 day before your degree programme starts at the latest, so 31 August for a September start.

7. Next Steps: Visa, Housing, Insurance, etc.
If you have received the great news that you are (conditionally) admitted to the programme, it's time to focus on other essential matters like arranging a visa (if necessary), finding accommodation, and preparing for the start of your academic journey. We will inform you per email about these topics when (conditionally) admitted.
