UvA - Economics and Business has designed a special UvA mathematics test to assess whether your mathematical skills meet the requirements equivalent to the Dutch VWO high school degree.

After reviewing your application, the Admissions Office has determined that the final step before you can be conditionally accepted into your new programme, is to pass the UvA mathematics test. For more details, check our diploma calculator.

Test dates and more information

The mandatory UvA mathematics tests are held monthly at the Roeterseiland Campus. The test dates are:

  • 6 March 2025, 15:00 (CET)
  • 3 April 2025, 10:00 (CEST)
  • 8 May 2025, 10:00 (CEST)
  • 6 June 2025, 10:00 (CEST)
  • 9 July 2025, 13:00 (CEST)
  • 26 August 2025 (time TBD)

You will be scheduled for the first available test date and do not need to register yourself.

Approximately two weeks before your test, you will be added to the Canvas page ‘Mathematics Entrance Test’. There you can find all the key information: your test date, practice materials and a digital practice test. Please note that you will not receive a notification from Canvas, so be sure to check your Canvas dashboard regularly.

Unable to attend in the Netherlands?

If you are unable to attend the test on your scheduled date, please contact us as soon as possible by email at mathematicstest-eb@uva.nl. If approved by the Admissions Office, an alternative option is to achieve a sufficient grade on one of the accepted OMPT tests.

Please note that if you do not attend the scheduled test and fail to notify the Admissions Office, your application will be cancelled.
