Amsterdam Business School (ABS) researchers Henk Volberda, Ans Kolk, and Deanne den Hartog were recently ranked among the top 10 scholars in the Netherlands. They were recognised for their scholarly accomplishments in the field of business and management. The ranking released by Research.com identifies leading scholars and the impact of their research in their discipline.

Henk Volberda (professor of Strategy & Innovation) is ranked 4th in the Netherlands. Ans Kolk (professor of Sustainable Management) holds 5th place. Both ABS professors were included in the ranking in previous years. This year, they are joined by professor Deanne den Hartog (Professor of Organisational Behavior) in 8th place. Their inclusion in the ranking recognises the quality and impact of their research. The Research.com ranking also lists the ABS professors at 138, 148, and 212 respectively in a worldwide ranking.

Compiling the ranking

An individual's ranking is based on a number of factors. These include the ‘h-index’ (research impact and number of citations), proportion of the contributions made within their discipline, and the researcher’s awards and achievements. Looking at countries, the Netherlands also made a strong showing at number 6 worldwide. The United States is in 1st place, followed by the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and China.
