With a flexible range of electives, you can tailor the programme to your interests and ambitions, ensuring that your learning is directly relevant to your professional path.

About the courses

Electives

You need 2 electives to graduate. You can choose between the following courses:

  • International Start-up trip

    Students will immerse themselves in Paris’s startup ecosystem through site visits, workshops, and guest lectures, collaborate on a team project highlighting key entrepreneurial trends, and engage in daily reflections to deepen cross-cultural, analytical, and creative skills.

  • Blockchain, cryptocurrencies, Smart Contracts

    Discover topics like digital currencies, blockchains in the FinTech field.

  • Fintech Ventures

    Get acquainted with the key principles, behaviors, tools and frameworks enabling start-ups and start-up initiatives within large corporates to capture digital opportunities.

  • Sustainable Finance & Impact Investing

    This course offers a comprehensive overview of sustainable finance and impact investing, covering key principles, practices, and their impact on finance and business.

  • International Consulting Trip

    Students collaborate in international teams to design practical solutions for real companies abroad, gaining hands-on exposure to the country’s business context, markets, and practices. The project builds skills in problem-solving, teamwork, cross-cultural communication, strategic thinking, and delivering results to clients under faculty supervision.

  • Product Management

    This elective covers the role, skills, and responsibilities of product managers, focusing on customer needs, technology integration, and agile product development. Students apply tools across the full product lifecycle and present their developed product at the end of the course.

  • Scaling-up Businesses

    This course teaches students how to analyse and advise scale-ups by focusing on five key decision areas: strategy, execution, people and organization, cash and capital, and marketing and sales. Through seminars and a real-world team project, students apply frameworks, develop consultancy reports and pitches, and strengthen collaboration and communication skills.

  • Entrepreneurial Finance

    This course covers startup financing, valuation, deal negotiation, and exit strategies, helping students evaluate investment opportunities and funding options. Case studies and practical examples teach them to navigate term sheets and understand both entrepreneur and investor perspectives.

  • Corporate Venturing

    This course covers corporate venturing, resource allocation, and entrepreneurial decision-making. Students gain hands-on experience through a corporate collaboration challenge to develop venturing skills and strategic judgment.

  • Innovation Management

    This course explores how innovation drives business strategy, enables disruption, and creates new opportunities by leveraging technology, consumer insights, and pilot testing. Through lectures, case studies, and practical exercises, students learn to develop, implement, and sustain innovative ideas that support long-term strategic goals.

  • Supply Chain Transformation

    This course covers supply chain management, including strategy, performance, risk, and the impact of technology and sustainability. Students gain practical skills to optimise and lead supply chains effectively through lectures and case studies.

  • International study trip

    This 1 week trip offers insight into the nature of business in South Africa. Attend lectures at the University of Cape Town Business School. Discuss innovation, inclusive business models, and emerging markets with business school faculties, industry experts, executives and entrepreneurs.

Take individual modules from the MBA programme

You have the option to take individual modules from our MBA programme. This allows you to deepen or broaden your expertise in a specific area of finance. Each module provides in-depth knowledge on key themes within the field. All classes are on campus, so a valid visa for the Netherlands is required.

Amsterdam Leadership Programme

The Amsterdam Leadership Programme is our personal coaching programme. It helps you to develop your personal and professional leadership skills through lectures, workshops and intervision sessions. The focus is on exploring your own leadership styles, strengths, and development areas. You will:

  • receive feedback on key skills;
  • focus on the skills needed to grow professionally within an organisation;
  • learn specific skills relevant to personal goals;
  • network with an influential employee;
  • share both frustrations and successes.

Learn by doing

Hands-on learning is central to the programme. You will, for example:

  • develop a business plan in Fintech Venture.
  • explore asset management theory with industry experts in Advanced Asset Management.
  • solve a real-life business case in Mergers & Acquisitions and present your work to leading professionals in the field.
