Over the past few years, I have observed the world rapidly changing due to digitalisation, affecting every aspect of life, including work. I felt the urgency to keep up with these changes and I decided to pivot my career. This motivation and my passion towards blockchain and web3 technologies have led me to pursue a degree within Fintech.'

'During my search for master’s programmes, I discovered the MIF programme at the Amsterdam Business School. Its comprehensive and forward-thinking curriculum, with emphasis on finance, technology, and innovation, tailored for executives, motivated me to apply.

Studying at ABS has been a rewarding challenge. Returning to university after spending years in the workplace was a difficult transition. And the programme is quite demanding as it requires high dedication and time management. However, the skills and knowledge that I gained are extremely valuable, resulting in significant personal and professional growth. Overall, the ABS experience has been truly transformative.

Coming from a sales and marketing background in the consumer goods industry, most of the concepts covered in the MIF curriculum were new and fascinating to me. The programme’s emphasis on emerging technologies, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, blockchain and Python has provided valuable insights. Moreover, the programme is highly focused on the practical implications of these technologies and equips students with essential skills to navigate the ever-changing business landscape successfully.

There are multiple aspects of the MIF programme that stand out. Firstly, the diverse and experienced cohort of students creates a unique and enriching learning environment. With every student bringing different experiences, knowledge and perspectives to the classroom, lectures are engaging and dynamic. Moreover, the curriculum offers a perfect balance between finance and technology. It covers essential financial concepts while also exposing students to emerging technologies that shape the financial landscape.

Secondly, Amsterdam is a great place to live and study. It is one of Europe’s premier destinations and offers a vibrant lifestyle. The city has a very strong and expanding labour market and a diverse expat community, making the transition from student to employment relatively easy.

For those who are considering the MIF programme, I recommend connecting with MIF alumni and participating in Finance modules to gain a deeper understanding of the programme and its potential benefits. Taking the first step is always challenging and it is normal to feel unsure about going back to school, especially after a few years in the workplace. However, I can confidently say that once students start this journey, they will very much appreciate the decision they have made.’
