This 1-year academic Master’s programme teaches you to conduct research in business economics subjects. Choose from 3 top-level tracks: Managerial Economics and Strategy, Competition Law and Economics or Neuroeconomics.
The MSc in Business Economics gives you the opportunity to specialise in your field of interest. You can choose 1 of 3 tracks.
Competition is one of the prime organising principles of a market economy. Laws protect its processes, and international institutions enforce these laws when competition comes under threat. In the Competition Law and Economics track you learn to understand the intricacies of competition and the regulations that govern it.
Unravel the secrets of succesful organisations. Learn how to make analytically motivated organisational decisions to improve economic performance. The track Managerial Economics and Strategy provides deep insights into the drivers of corporate performance.
In the track Neuroeconomics you gain insight into recent scientific advances in the field of neuroeconomics and identify current societal challenges that can benefit from them. Receive interdisciplinary training in brain and cognitive sciences and economics. All with a strong focus on behavioural economics and neuroeconomics.
As a business economist you analyse a situation, weigh up the evidence and draw various conclusions for policy action. Studying Business Economics gives you an understanding of the functioning of corporations and other organisations: both internally and in the market context in which they operate. You can create a study programme that perfectly fits your interest. Beside general courses and track courses, you have the option to do an internship, or study abroad. You will finish this Master's programme with a thesis.
After graduation you are ready for a successful career as a researcher or an expert in organisations such as:
If you have a natural interest in how organisations and (global) markets work and interact, you have a head start. A critical, inquisitive and analytical mind is crucial, as is having a way with numbers and an affinity for math.
Going full speed from the beginning, you follow well-designed courses, strongly related to one another. This lets you see the bigger picture of the programme right from the start. Even though the programme is quite demanding and challenging, you develop a useful skillset. This makes it well worth the effort.Thierry Wetzel, track Competition Law and Economics Read about Thierry's experiences with this Master's
