Prof. Perotti serves as senior advisor to the DNB board since February 2024.
During his tenure at the Bank of England, Perotti will develop his resilience agenda, seeking stability by fewer norms balanced by a stronger response mandate. His work proposes contingent tools to contain rapid, digitally driven bank runs and recover stability at times of stress, with a focus on digital money developments.
The Houblon-Norman Fellowship is a premier research award bringing world-class senior academics directly into the Bank of England. Previous fellows include Robert Barro, Gary Gorton, Roger Farmer and Viral Acharya. The programme bridges cutting-edge academic theory and real-world policy by granting fellows full access to the Bank’s data policy and research staff. Working alongside senior policymakers, fellows enhance the institution's economic and regulatory expertise.
Professor Perotti was already a Bank of England fellow during the 2011–2012 Eurozone crisis. His reappointment highlights the international reputation of financial research conducted at the Amsterdam Business School.
