The Executive Board has appointed Aleksandar Andonov as Professor of Financial Institutions & Portfolio Management at the Amsterdam Business School (ABS) as of 1 July 2023. Andonov will continue his work at the Finance section.

The professor's research focuses on fostering long-term investing, analysing asset allocation and risk assessment for long-term investors. Additionally, he works on improving the design and governance of institutional investors. His work contributes to a better understanding of the asset management decisions of institutional investors, such as pension funds and insurance firms.  These can influence the asset prices and liquidity of financial markets as well as generate broader economic, social, and environmental effects.

Andonov joined the ABS as an Associate Professor in Finance in 2018.  He teaches courses in asset management and investing in the MSc Finance programme and the BSc Business Administration programme. He also teaches a PhD course in Empirical Asset Pricing at the Tinbergen Institute.
