We are pleased to once again welcome our students to Royal Theater Carré via a livestream link. We've lined up 4 inspirational speakers to appear on the main stage. The speakers will touch upon how COVID has impacted business, but the event will also look to the future with speakers who are front runners in sustainable entrepreneurship and digital transformation.

Programme 2021 spring edition

The livestream of these sessions is available for everyone who is interested in the programme. You can sign up by sending an email to the UvA in Carré organisation.

  • The future of business in beauty and fashion

    Session 1
    Monday, 17 May, 11:00 - 13:00

    Kevin Capota

For the first session we have invited 2 speakers with very different positions in the business of beauty and fashion. We will start with a presentation by Kevin Capota, CMO of l’Oréal Benelux.  Kevin is leading the digital transformation in marketing with dominant roles for social media, beauty apps and building capabilities to respond to new entrepreneurial challenges.

    Paulien Wesselink

The second speaker started her own fashion company right after finishing her studies. Paulien Wesselink founded O My Bag, selling leather bags that are produced in a fair and sustainable fashion. She will take us on her journey of starting up, meeting tough sustainability standards and share her current challenges with us.

  • The Market on your Mobile

    Session 2
    Monday, 17 May: 14:30 - 16:30

    Boukje Taphoorn

The second session also features corporate and sustainable entrepreneurs on stage. Bol.com is part of the Dutch based Ahold Delhaize company (also the corporation behind Albert Heijn) and the leading e-commerce company in the Netherlands. CMO Boukje Taphoorn will share with us how Bol.com has responded during the crisis and what are the challenges ahead.

    Eva Gouwens

The second speaker is the CEO of the most sustainable supplier of mobiles in the world: Fairphone. Eva Gouwens will explain how she wants to change the industry standards for mobiles to include social and environmental criteria by offering a competitive sustainable alternative to the market. Before she started at Fairphone she was leading Tony Chocolonely with a similar mission. Key question: can this successful strategy be copied in the market for mobiles?
