Admissions requirements

To qualify for admission to the EMFC, you must have:

  • an academic Master’s degree or other postgraduate degree (such as HOFAM);
  • at least 2 years’ relevant professional experience;
  • knowledge of management information processes, management, accounting, financial accounting, strategic management, financing, business administration, tax and corporate law, and marketing.

Accelerated track for RAs

If you are a Registered Accountant (RA) with substantial business-controller experience, you can do the accelerated RC track.

How do I apply?

1. Check the admissions requirements

Before submitting an application, check whether you meet the admissions requirements. Do the CV Scan so we can assess your eligibility for the programme. You will hear back from us within 3 working days.

If you meet the basic criteria, you will be invited for an online information session and an admissions interview, during which we will determine your admissibility and identify any gaps in your qualifications. Upon being formally admitted, you will receive an email inviting you to submit your application.

  • 2. Gather the required documents

    If you are eligible for the programme based on our CV Scan, you will be granted access to the application platform. To enrol, you will need to upload the following documents:

    • Copy of your passport
    • CV
    • Copy of Bachelor’s degree certificate
    • Copy of Bachelor’s transcript
    • Copy of Master’s degree certificate
    • Copy of Master’s transcript
  • 3. Admissions interview with the programme director

    During the admissions interview, we will review any gaps in your qualifications and discuss how and when you can complete the prerequisite modules.

  • 4. Notice of admission

    An admissions decision will be taken based on your admissions interview. If you are admitted to the programme, you will receive an official notice of admission containing an enrolment link. Your application is not final until we receive your enrolment.

* If you start in September 2026, you will pay an extension fee of €1,000 per semester from February 2029 onwards if you have not yet completed the programme.

Costs and financial assistance

What is included?

The tuition fee includes full access to University of Amsterdam facilities and examination fees. It does not include the cost of textbooks (approx. €600) and fees for prerequisite modules, if applicable (€500 - €1,200 per module).

Payments

Once you begin, you will receive the invoice for the tuition fee. You can pay the tuition fee in instalments.

Financial assistance

Professionals living and working in the Netherlands can apply for a lifelong learning credit (Levenlanglerenkrediet, a loan for tuition fees) at the Education Executive Agency (DUO). This loan is for Master’s programmes only. For more information about this loan, please check the DUO website.
