Event details of L&M Research Seminar with Courtny Von Hippel (The University of Queensland Australia)
Date
13 May 2025
Time
13:00 -14:00
Room
Hybrid from REC M4.02

Abstract:

What happens when employees feel stereotyped at work? Research shows that stereotypes can impact how employees experience the workplace, but the story is far from simple.

This talk will explore what triggers feelings of being stereotyped, how these experiences affect employee well-being and engagement, and why certain groups—such as women in male-dominated fields and older employees—are particularly affected.

The talk will also discuss ongoing efforts to identify strategies that could buffer employees from the negative consequences of these experiences and outline future directions for this research.
