JASEIN brought together more than 50 assistant professors from 11 Dutch universities at Hotel de Leijhof in Oisterwijk. The inaugural year of JASEIN was generously funded by the Amsterdam Business School and this year’s edition was sponsored by Tilburg University.

The event featured both social and academic activities. Some of the highlights included:

  • a panel discussion about the advantages and challenges of working with Dutch data;
  • ‘rapid connections’ to facilitate finding like-minded peers for collaboration;
  • a panel with 4 department heads that discussed the challenges of Dutch higher education and how assistant professors can navigate these uncertain times.

JASEIN’s primary goal is to cultivate a vibrant academic network to foster information exchange, stimulate research collaboration, and offer social support to assistant professors working in the Netherlands. To achieve this objective, JASEIN chose not to follow the classic format of academic conferences and seminars and was not held in an academic environment.

Staff who would like to learn more about JASEIN can visit the website or send an email to the organisation.
