The team consisted of 4 MSc Finance students Aleksandra Afanaseva, Chiara Carmona (both in the Corporate Finance track), Michael Cheng and Hridhanshu Dave (both in the Quantitative Finance track). Participating teams are assessed for their analytical, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills.

The CFA Research Challenge started in early October and required the teams from the universities of the Benelux region to write an equity research report. The report, including an investment recommendation, was for the company Aalberts, which was selected for this year’s challenge.

Shared 2nd place

In early February, the team made it to the top 4 finalists based on the scores assigned to their written report. On 1 March, the ABS team was awarded 2nd place in the Benelux finals, sharing this spot with the Rotterdam School of Management. The event took place in the Euronext, where the team presentations were assessed by the industry experts from the field of equity research. This marks the first time that an ABS team made it to the finals of the CFA Research Challenge.
