The professor of International Finance at the Amsterdam Business School (ABS) will be advising the board on shadow bank regulations (for financial intermediaries that fall outside of the scope of traditional banking regulations), macroprudential policies, and long-term stability issues.
This role ties in with his research interests in the fields of banking, corporate finance and governance, and the political economy of finance. In the past, Perotti has worked as an advisor at the World Bank, IMF, the European Commission, and central banks such as the Fed and the Bank of England. He is currently also a member of the Advisory Committee to the European Financial Stability Board at the European Central Bank.
