Erik Dirksen celebrates a 50 years of service anniversary
On September 1st, 2025, 50 years passed since Erik Dirksen entered service at the University of Amsterdam as a student assistant. Now, 50 years later, bridging a long career, Erik still contributes to our school and education by supervising Bachelor's and Master's theses and by teaching in the UvA Summer School.
To celebrate this very special anniversary Erik Dirksen will give a lecture "Doing business with Russia: A historical perspective" and will draw back to his former research area, economics of the Soviet Union/Russia. It raises the following question: How do we value economic ties with Russia after a possible future peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia?
We very much invite all colleagues from EB UvA and those who developed ties with Erik Dirksen to join this joyful reception.
