Working on peace: international business and reconciliation
This project aims to uncover the role of firms in the reconciliation of former adversarial groups within and amongst communities, and in different locations. It conceptualizes so-called reconciliatory management practices (RMPs), which are widely considered an important aspect of peacebuilding. Beyond the categorization of different RMPs, the study’s objectives are to help shed light on the potential impact of the distinct practices and to understand what mechanisms and conditions – whether at the individual, organizational, or wider level – seem necessary for success. To this end, the study will conduct comparative analyses between firms active in diverse regions/countries, considering both domestic and foreign firms.
