Summary

As generative artificial intelligence is being increasingly adopted at work, organizations are likely to adjust the ways in which employees are managed and monitored. The purpose of this PhD project is to investigate changes to management control systems as GenAI becomes integrated into daily workflows. We collect survey and qualitative data from the field to inform academic theory. This project contributes to management accounting research by providing evidence of how management controls evolve with changes in organisational work.
