Three Amsterdam Business School researchers have won the International Association for Business and Society’s (IABS) 2017 best published paper award for their article on the state of international research on corporate social responsibility and sustainability topics.
The award was announced last week during the IABS Annual Conference in Hong Kong.
Amsterdam Business School researchers Niccolò Pisani, Arno Kourula and Ans Kolk (International Strategy and Marketing section) had their article ‘How global is international CSR research? Insights and recommendations from a systematic review’ published in the prominent international Journal of World Business.
The authors systematically reviewed 494 articles in 31 journals over a 31-year period, assessing the embeddedness of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in international business and management research. They provide an extensive analysis of which developing, emerging, and developed countries are covered, map the literature thematically, and identify unanswered questions, implications, and best practices. One of their findings is that international CSR research is far from being global and still emerging in ‘mainstream’ international business research. They also gave many recommendations for further research and practice.
