Impact investment has become increasingly important as an investment class in the last decade. In addition to financial returns, investors seek to invest responsibly for social, environmental, and economic impact and to channel their capital in ways that positively address sustainability and other development challenges. However, we still observe a degree of uncertainty about the scope of impact investment: how can this impact actually be measured in addition to the generated financial returns? In this panel discussion we seek to clarify these questions. We will also outline current impact investment strategies as well as future opportunities and lessons from the past.
