If you have a bachelor's degree from a university of applied sciences, you have to follow the Pre-Master's programme to be admitted to the Executive MSc in International Finance. Successful completion of the Pre-Master's programme gives you direct access to the Master's programme. You can only take the Pre-Master's programme if you already work in the financial sector within the Netherlands.

Pre-Master's programme in short

  • Starts in February 2024; runs from February to June
  • Part-time programme, taught in English
  • Classes take place on Friday during the day
  • Not a degree programme; a bridge programme
  • 18 ECTS total
  • Tuition fee: €4,400
  • Application deadline for the pre-master starting in February 2024: 1 December 2023
  • Admission requirements

    You can only apply for the Pre-Master's if you are admitted to the Executive MSc in International Finance. To be admitted to the MIF programme, you have to meet the following requirements:

    • A Dutch 'vwo' or 'havo' high school diploma with a pass mark in Mathematics (A2 or B).
    • An applied sciences Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably:
      - related to Economics or Finance
      - from an English-language degree programme at an NVAO-accredited university of applied sciences in The Netherlands.
    • A minimum of 2 years' full-time work experience within the financial field.
  • Fees for the Pre-Master's programme
    • The tuition fee for the Executive MSc in International Finance (MIF) is €31,000.
    • The fee for the Pre-Master's is €4,400.
    • Pre-Master's students who continue into the Master programme will have a €4,000 of the Pre-Master's fee deducted later from the total MIF tuition fee as an Early-Bird discount.
  • Pre-Master's curriculum

    The Pre-Master's programme consists of the following courses, providing a total of 18 ECTS.

  • How to apply

    You can only apply for the Pre-Master's if you have been admitted to the Executive MSc in International Finance programme. Once we have assessed your eligibility for the MIF programme, you can follow the application process for the Pre-Master's.

  • Continue to the Master programme

    If you want to continue with the Executive MSc in International Finance, you need to pass every single course of the Pre-Master's before 15 July 2024. You get 2 attempts at passing every course: 1 regular exam and 1 retake. If you succeed with an average grade of 7.0 out of 10, you can continue your studies with the MIF programme starting September 2024.
