Process Mining uses the event log information available in the hospital information system to extract process knowledge and shows what is really happening in terms of process paths that are typically followed by patients. This information is key to process improvements such as reducing costs, shortening the total treatment time, standardize the way of working, strengthening the collaboration between medical disciplines, etc.

Bart van Acker, Process Improvement and Innovation Consultant at Raboud UMC, has more than 10 years of experience with process improvement and innovation in the healthcare sector. In this seminar, Mr van Acker will introduce what process mining all entails, its opportunities and challenges and will share examples of how Raboud UMC has applied process mining and what results it brought forward.
