EventPay wins Startup Project Pitch Finals
Students of the Master’s in Entrepreneurship had the opportunity to pitch their startup project during the Pitch Finals on 24 October. The students Joeri Stavleu, Pim Thijssen and Jekaterina Ivanova won the prize of €500 with their project EventPay. The prize was sponsored by UvA Ventures.
With their project EventPay, the winning team provides a payment solution for festival guests, who can use the payment solution for all the festivals they attend. This way they don’t need to buy tokens at each festival and face the risk of ending up with useless tokens at the end of the festival.
The jury chose EventPay because they had the best message and the best value proposition according to the jury. They also effectively validated their business idea. “In this project we created and validated a business idea. It was an interesting learning experience and a nice way to start off the Entrepreneurship programme”, said the members of the team.
The Startup Project is part of the Entrepreneurship master’s programme. Students learn during the project to identify an innovative business idea and thoroughly validate it. This year 25 teams participated in the Startup Project. They jury members were: Madeline Lawrence, Director at Amsterdam Student Investment Fund (ASIF), and Shobhit Dhawan, Investment manager at UvA Ventures.
