ABS student Maren Heumann wins the George Molenkamp Sustainability Thesis Award
UvA Amsterdam Business School student Maren Heumann won the George Molenkamp Sustainability Thesis 2018 award. Dr. George Molenkamp presented the award during the UvA in Carré event on Friday 12 October.
Heumann received the award for her thesis ‘Organizational Justice as a Mediator of the Relationship between Stakeholder Culture and Organizational Citizenship Behavior’. Her thesis supervisor was Dr. Flore Bridoux (ABS Strategy and Marketing). The criteria of the prize included contribution of sustainability, overall quality, practical relevance and ambition level. Heumann also received a cheque for €1,000 sponsored by KPMG.
The award committee
The members of the jury were Jolande Sap (Supervisory Board KPMG), Christof Bischofberger (Faculty Student Council, FEB/UvA), Bernd Hendriksen (KPMG Sustainability), and Arno Kourula (ABS Strategy and Marketing).
About the award
The award is in honor of Dr. George Molenkamp, a pioneer in business sustainability. Dr. Molenkamp is a former Partner and Chairman of KPMG Sustainability Services and he was instrumental in developing the field of environmental and sustainability management and auditing. He has also served as a Professor at the University of Amsterdam, among many other positions of responsibility he had in society and business. The award is a collaboration between KPMG and Amsterdam Business School.
