Starting in September 2018, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Economics and Business will team up to offer a new Master’s programme in Law & Finance (LLM). This specific, initial, interdisciplinary master’s programme in law and finance is currently not offered in the Netherlands.
A survey among representatives of the profession for whom this programme is intended revealed that there is a strong demand for law school graduates with a good grasp of financial economics.
The accreditation process for this new programme has been initiated and it is expected that an assessment panel will assess the programme in the spring of 2018. If the panel issues a positive recommendation, the new programme will accredited by the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) in early summer. The first students will then be able to start in the programme in September 2018.
Recruitment and selection of students, on the condition accreditation will be granted, has already commenced. The intention is to start in September 2018 with approximately 30 (international) students. Marc Salomon is the programme director on behalf of UvA Economics and Business. Maurice Oudejans, project manager for accreditations, is responsible for this programme’s accreditation process.
