Gazelles win Entrepreneurial Challenge

7 November 2017

Sixteen student teams spent three weeks working full-time on real-life challenges for businesses (mostly start-ups and scale-ups). This ‘Entrepreneurial Challenge’ is part of the Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice course in the Master’s in Entrepreneurship programme.

Amsterdam Scientific Instruments

The winning team – Gazelles – worked on a challenge for the company Amsterdam Scientific Instruments. They were presented with a prize of €1000 during the award ceremony on Friday 3 November.

The challenge was: ‘How and where do we optimize our (online) marketing and exposure for our global target group?’

The company was extremely pleased with work carried out by Gazelles:

"We were impressed with the way the Gazelles approached our marketing challenge and the solutions and advice they came up with in such a short time. Their implementations have caused an immediate increase on our website traffic. We will definitely use their recommendations and put their words into practice."

The Gazelles team (consisting of Johanna Koenen, Leonie Schäfer, Henrik Roth and Bart van der Ham) was also very satisfied:

"The Entrepreneurial Challenge was a great opportunity for us to apply our knowledge on a hands-on project. Being active in such a real-life situation, helping an actual start-up with a real issue, led to some great motivation, eventually resulting in a the best outcome: winning the first prize. We are beyond happy and excited.“

Sponsor

Both the prize and the ceremony was sponsored by Viisi Labs (one of the participating companies). This business is interested in supporting initiatives that bring university and practice closer together. As a rapidly growing business, they are always looking for new talent graduating from universities.
