Chinese delegation sees potential collaboration with Amsterdam Business School

17 October 2017

On 12 October 2017 a delegation from the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) visited the Amsterdam Business School (ABS). The Chinese delegation included Prof. Xie Jinghui (SASS Vice-President), Prof. Qiang Ying, (SASS Director) and Prof. Ding Boato (SASS Deputy-Director).

Following an opening session at the ABS, they visited the Startup Village, a co-working space for start-ups at Science Park Amsterdam supporting UvA students, faculty and alumni in starting science-based ventures, and Innovation Exchange Amsterdam (IXA) at the Science Park. IXA is an organisation established in 2008 to facilitate knowledge transfer, making scientific knowledge accessible to society. The Chinese guests were both interested in and impressed by the high degree of internationalisation at the ABS, knowledge valorisation activities at IXA, and the support for innovative start-ups at the Science Park’s Startup Village.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation

At the end of their visit the delegation proposed potential collaboration between SASS and ABS in the areas of student exchanges, faculty visits and joint research in areas of mutual interest. These topics will be discussed further in the coming period.
