In the in-company project you apply your acquired knowledge to real world business challenges. Develop your consulting skills in a self-selected company environment that could range from start-ups to multi-national enterprises.

Choose your topic

You identify and develop the project together with your organisation of choice, and under the supervision of a faculty member assigned by the Amsterdam MBA programme. Samples of our MBA in-company project companies: Avanade, TomTom, Heineken, Vodafone, Philips and several start-up companies.

Examples of project topics might be:

  • Relationship-based factors that influence the performance of an international joint venture
  • Unifying brand identity: lessons from an NGO
  • How does operational process design matter for success in service quality delivery?
  • Impact of innovation technology on intellectual property in the music industry

When and where?

Research takes place during the Dutch summer period, prior to graduation. Typically from about mid-June to mid-August. The end result of the project is a written, graded report. Students in the part-time programme typically conduct their final project within the setting of their employer’s organisation or industry. Students in the full-time programme often combine their project with a summer internship.

Support in finding your project

It’s the student’s own responsibility to find a project in the field of management. Fortunately the greater Amsterdam metropolitan area is home to a wide variety of (inter)national organisations.

Alumni, the Careers Office, and faculty members can also be helpful in finding a project. The organisation may even be located outside the Netherlands.
